Timeless charm & character

Brookhouse Mill is the latest pub to join the Stange family.

We are thrilled to take on this much-loved pub in the heart of Denbigh and can't wait to bring it back to the centre of the community. From what we've heard, it's been a firm favourite with both locals and visitors for many years, and we sincerely hope to do it justice. After being closed for the past couple of years, our aim is to sympathetically restore this beloved building back to a warm and welcoming traditional country pub.

18th Century Mill

The building itself is an old water mill impressively dating back to the 18^th century. It sits on the banks of the river Ystrad in the hamlet of Brookhouse, on the outskirts of Denbigh.

The mill has been many things over the years, originally as a flour/grain mill, then at some point in the middle of the last century being converted into a house and working pottery by the Powell family, and latterly being converted into a pub in the 80’s and run for over forty years by the family of the late John and Karen Hall. We hope to be able to continue their great work in making the mill a wonderful pub at the heart of its local community for another forty years.

Drink & Dine

Quality and freshness will lie at the heart of our menu. With a brand new commercial kitchen planned we will be able to serve an eclectic menu of exciting, bold flavours with the comforting classics you'd expect from a traditional pub. Alongside these familiar favourites, you'll find seasonal specials inspired from around the world. Whenever possible, we source our produce locally supporting local business as well as trying to showcase the produce that the area has to offer.

Our bar will boast an extensive selection to suit every taste, featuring local ales, premium lagers and ciders, along with quality wines from around the world.

Opening 2025

The refurbishment will involve making a few changes here and there to help the flow and feel of the place, as well as create a charming outdoor space to enjoy those oh-so brief warmer months of the year. We fell in love with the charm and character of the building and want to keep true to its origins as much as possible.

With a favourable tailwind, we hope to have the place back open and trading by summer 2025, though there's a lot of work to be done between now and then.
